B.YONEST “Entertainment Newz – AMA’s were an embarrassment to America

If last nights American Music Awards weere an  interpretation of what Mainstream Music is like in America, I want to move to Australia and become a goat herder. I was HIGHLY and COMPLETELY disappointed in EVERY performance (besides Mary J. Blige), it didn’t even feel like Awards were given out and the acceptance speeches were ridiculous as well. Let’s start w/ the performances though, shall we. Nicki Minaj. Yeah, let’s start there.

If you’re going to start off a show with a performance, it better be an eye opening, BLOWOUT performance. Lip syncing to a TERRIBLE song, dressing in Space Outfits and having people in Machine costumes, blowing smoke (up everyone’s ASS) is NOT the best method to the madness at the beginning of an award ceremony. The best thing about Nicki’s performance was Taylor Swift “spittin bars.” I didn’t know T Swizzle had some hood in her little 21 year old country music Spirit. Highly impressed, Taylor. Highly impressed. Sidenote, why the hell is Marc Anthony performing w/ Pitbull? SO EFFIN CONFUSED.. Moving on.

Dear Justin Bieber. I don’t know who your manager/stylist/music director is, but the song, outfit, Trix and approach you took last night was RETARDED. You came out dressed like a ‘Candy Cane,” bro. A Candy Cane. Your shoes were stupid. Your outfit was stupid. The song you chose was stupid. NObody in the crowd came to the American Music Awards to hear you “TERRIBLY” sing about Mistletoes. GET REAL, Bieber. GET REAL. If you want your career to be short lived and forgotten about, keep singing slow ballads at Award Ceremonies, homie. You’ll be GONE in NO TIME. Let’s keep it movin, people. I’m nauseated just thinking about that one.

Enrique Iglesias and Marc Anthony. I’m just going to group you two losers together and DIS invite you any upcoming music Award Ceremonies UNLESS it’s a Latino Version. Make sure you keep “Pitbull” and Jennifer Lopez at home with you as well. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid.. I really wish I wasn’t saying these things right now, but EVERYONE is going to agree with me that you three were POINTLESS at the Awards last night. Jennifer Lopez, you song choice was terrible and watching you lip sync was only cool during the “Selena” Movie. Great movie. It’s a damn shame that is STILL the best thing you’ve done in your career. EVER. Congrats on your Award for your “Latino” music. I genuinely mean that. Much deserved. You Latino Community looks up to immensely and THAT; I respect. Es verdad!

I don’t know. I could rant and rave about my disappointment in the Mainstream Music collage put together yesterday, but I won’t do that. Anyone who watched the Awards Ceremony is pretty aware of the pathetic rendition of Sport. LMFAO.. Really? You guys got to finish the night last night? Drake? Really? He’s the best thing hip hop music has to offer? It amazes me that three years later, he’s still a TERRIBLE performer. TERRIBLE. TERRIBLE. TERRIBLE Performer. He looked uncomfortable and out of sort. I love the record he chose. I actually came running back in my room so I could hear it and watch the performance… Then the performance came. Singing, rapping and letting the Ad-Libs play at the wrong times? I mean, WHAT THE F*CK? Highly disappointed, man.

I couldn’t tell you who won very many Awards at all. I watched the Award Ceremony in such a confused and irritated state that I feel like there were NO Awards given. #Truth. Mary J. Blige did her thing. I’m not saying that because she’s Mary J, either. I’m saying it because she saved the day. Katy Perry did a great job and her acceptance speech was not unsettling. I don’t know what you all thought of last nights’ American Music Awards. You can disagree w/ me if you must, but you know (deep down inside) that the sh*t was PATHETIC and DISMAL to say the least. I know there was some “teenie boppers” out there who think they were amazing and that’s fine. You’re just ignorant and wrong. American Music is falling off when it comes to Mainstream music. There are plenty of talented people (who are well known) who would have made the Ceremony AMAZING. Of course, record labels, owners and Mainstream America is focused on diminishing the brand of American Music so we’ll have to settle for terrible ballads, stupid dancing and back flipping (Chris Brown) and lip syncing by untalented artists. Keep it up, America.

B.YONEST “Entertainment” Newz.. Goblins, Ghosts and Kim Karsashian

This year, we at “TEAM INVAZION” decided to do Halloween a little differently than most years. Most years, we sit around watching all of these crazed lunatics get dressed up in hellacious costumes, with an extensive lack of interest and participation. This year “TEAM INVAZION” traveled to New York City and decided to embrace the stupidity. New York City is known for it’s Halloween Festivities (not quite like Athens, Ohio) so we figured let’s see what it has to offer.

Friday Night began w/ a Devils Night Party hosted at Lavo. Techno music filled the background. LIngering smells of liquor, fake blood and marijuana filled the room creating a scent one would like to forget, but the party was OFF THE CHAIN. Glow Sticks, Sexy angels and drunk priests were just a few of the costumes strolling around the building at any given time. What a night is all I can say about it.

Saturday, “TEAM INVAZION,” got up from a drunken stooper and traveled back to Lavo for 80′s Hip Hop Brunch hosted by Slick Rick. It was gangsta. Gold Chains, Kangols, Run DMC apparel and women walking around on stilts were the definite highlights of the day. Not to mention all the free drinks “TEAM INVAZION” was being fed. Most of our staff was inebriated by 4pm in the afternoon and we still had to get to the Kim Kardashian Party later that night. THAT DIDN’T HAPPENED. I’m not really a Kim Kardashian fan. I’ve heard numerous times that she’s a stuck up, pompous, arrogant, beyotch and that’s just not the company I would like to keep. She posted a message about hosting a party at “Tao” and the party was CLEARLY at “Lavo.” Shows you how much she DOESN’T give a SH*T about much of anything. Therefore, we SKIPPED her party. Well, that and we were SOOOO INEBRIATED.

Tonight (Halloween Night), “TEAM INVAZION” will be heading up to DREAM for Heidi Klum and Seals’ Halloween Bash. Costume required. Normally, I’d tell them to go f*ck themselves and go to the party in a pair of jeans, a New Era hat covering my eyes and a pair of Dunks. This year? NO. I’m doing it RIGHT. Dressing it Up. Full Costume. Tomorrow or Wednesday, there will be pictures of the Full Weekend Spread for your Halloween Enjoyment, kids. See you soon and be safe out there on this Spooky Night.

B.YONEST “Entertainment” NEWZ. Machine Gun Kelly, DJ Edski.. Athens Ohio what a DAY

The field was festered with its typical mud pits, filthy thong sandals , random watches and attire, but the sun shined. I repeat, the sun shined. 8 Fest, in Athens, this past weekend was a spectacular event of safety, fun and lack of dignity. Couples caught on video having intercourse in the woods. CHECK. RanDUMB people vomiting in the crowd as Machine Gun Kelly stole the show and he rapped atop the tressing of the stage? CHECK. 13,000 people? CHECK. Thus we call that an ultimate success. There were a couple injuries, but everyone seemed to pertain whatever amount of sense they had after 8 hours of partying in the Spring Sun.

The 8th Year of the “Numbers Fest” (by Dominic Petrozzi) will definitely go down as one of the best yet. The police officers seemed extremely satisfied with the safety, organization and overall ethic of the Festival. Post 7 Fest, there were a few concerns, but Mr. Petrozzi definitely made this Fest better for all involved. Two stages, a DJ “Pow Wow” tent, a better, cleaner (for lack of better term) venue and people leaving screaming “9 FEST, 9 FEST” was a great sign that the Festival isn’t going anywhere, anytime soon. The City of Athens has to thank Petrozzi for that. I have a feeling Wal-Mart, gas stations, liquor stores and food vendors love the fact that every May (for 8 years straight) they’ve been able to double their profits in one day.

To the music. The Stand Out shows.. Matt Gibson of IPhonic walked on stage w/ a tuxedo on and played “The Star Spangled Banner” Jimi Hendrix style. The crowd went bezerk. I said bezerk. Stand Out. IPhonic had an amazing set. The Forties rocked out as well. I musn’t lie. Those are some talented dudes and the day after 8 Fest, they flew to Los Angeles to work on upcoming music. Congratulations gentleman. DJ Edski (native of Los Angeles) had the crowd R.O.C.K.I.N. Edski has been doing the Fest for some time now so he knows what to expect, but the crowd doesn’t. Every year he steals the show with his West Coast swag, but love for World Wide Music. He seems to have something in the crates EVERYTIME. Stand Out

Of Course Machine Gun Kelly STOLE the SHOW as he seems to continue to do. Drama From Fantasy Factory made a guest cameo. I mean LACE UP right? Kelly played all of his jams that have people wiggling they feet from Los Angeles to Brooklyn and everywhere between. It was nice to see the headliner be from Ohio. The feeling was definitely there. This was a year that Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus showed a lot of love to one another on the music tip. Dj E-V came through and blessed the stage. Amazing dude. Self Diploma, the Promotional Team in Cincinnati, came through along with The One Mic (Cincinnati). Fly.Union (of Columbus), LxExForxThexUncool (of Columbus) came through. I could go on and on forever. 8 Fest was a day to remember so REMEMBER IT.

It’s been some time since we’ve sat down and chillaxed with our favorite hip hopper, B.YONEST. We been hearing and seeing his name everywhere (still), but we felt it was time to sit him down and ask him some sinSERIOUS sh*t. What is going on with this album? He got us waiting like he’s Dr. Dre putting out “Detox” (which is rumored to come on April 20th). What’s poppin’ with this upcoming “Trixtape?” What the hell is a TrixTape and WHO is Penn Franklin? We set the interview down, finally got to sit down with B DOT and this is what we get to present to you. You know to brace yourselves because ANONYMOUZ never holds his tongue and there’s always something funny coming from this man.

INVAZION: What is all the way good, B DOT. Where the hell you been? How you feelin? All that. Talk to me.

B DOT: I’m good, lady. I’m all the way good. You know me. Smokin. Writing raps. Trying to be famousER.

INVAZION: FamousER, B DOT. You know that’s not a word AT ALL. You doing good though. You look well. Nice and clean

B DOT: I knew I had an interview with you today so I decided to get nifty. Cut my hair. Brush my face. All that. I did it. I really been looking like a homeless bum with no haircut, but I had to today.

INVAZION: Well, Mr. DOT I appreciate cha. Now. Talk to me about this Trixtape. The Introduction of Penn Franklin. What is that.

B DOT: Nice transition, sis. Way to get right to it. (as he laughs hysterically). Penn Franklin is me. Anyone who really knows B.YONEST knows my real government name. They know I’m Brian Franklin Penn. They also know I hate my name. I feel like the corniest white dude, EVER. With that said, I don’t like how Franklin Penn sound COMMA but I think Penn Franklin sounded kinda catchy. Just working on a more grown folk alias/swagger if you will. B.YONEST aint going nowhere. I just think The Introduction of Penn Franklin is a good name for a TrixTape. My team, family and friends seem to think so as well. Hence, The Introduction of Penn Franklin. Just my middle and last name, reversed. Inverted, Switched. Etc. Feel me?

INVAZION: I do and I can’t lie. It’s pretty clever. We were at the office trying to figure out the premise of it and no one could decypher the new name. We now B DOT ANONYMOUZ. We get B.YONEST, We all about B DOT. This Penn Franklin was a curve ball for us. Dope name though Penn Franklin.

B DOT: Thanks. I’m glad to have your approval, Stella. Now I KNOW I can keep it.

INVAZION: Smart ass. Always got something to say. Always. Moving on. I see you’re opening for D-12 this month. You’re doing 8 Fest with Machine Gun Kelly, in Athens next month. What is going on, baby?

B DOT: I really don’t know, truthfully. I’ve been working harder than ever to promote the B.YONEST brand. There really is no team besides Dominic, Zak, Eric “Steez O Sound” Jones and myself. There really never has been. I mean we have a few people who make flyers and such. Booking Agents. NONE. Management TEAM of people in the business. NONE. Street team. NONE. This has been US for the last 6 years. I’ve taken on a greater role of booking shows and getting the name out there. I’ve just been netWORKing harder and throwing my music and name in peoples’ faces more.

INVAZION: True. Well, we see it. Your Twitter numbers are on the rise. Your Facebook Friends/Fans seems to be climbing steady. When’s the last time you put a project out?

B DOT: Depends on what you mean project. I put new music out all the time. I really do. My blog is full of songs. A project for downloading pleasure. It’s been a few months. I just threw that A capella “Just Barz” project out last year. This Penn Franklin joint is the 1st release in a minute though. I’m getting excited because this is MY project. The album is coming too. As you know albums aren’t really the artists project. We have to make a project for EVERYONE to love. Not TrixTapes. I mean, I hope everyone loves it COMMA but if they don’t… I’m a love it STILL.

INVAZION: What can we expect from this new Penn Franklin character? I see you in the fresh Dickies. The V-necks and inside-out hoodies w/ the Jordans and Dunks on lately. That’s a whole new dynamic of dress for you, Penn Franklin. What’s this all about?

B DOT: My homie Dominic came to me and told me it was time for a switch up. I have no problem listening to the people I know and trust. My family is all I got. When one of the homies or loved ones comes to me with advice, knowledge or opinion(s) about shit, I listen. I love him for that. I stay locked in a studio, reading, chiefin and focusing on my music. I need people to let me know if I missed the boat on something. I’m always open to suggestion(s) on growth and development as a man. I’d be an idiot not to be. What kind of artist thinks everything they do is the best move? A broke, lonely one.

INVAZION: Aint that the truth. You seem more grown. You seem more. What’s the word? Comfortable.

B DOT: Stella, I’m GREAT. I feel like Tony the Tiger, mama. I feel positive. Upbeat. Alert. I feel really good. True story. I don’t know why. I keep telling my peoples. Either I’m a blow up soon or die because I feel like Biggie did at the end of Notorious. I think B DOT is growing up a little bit. LITTLE bit.

INVAZION: Everything else is good, too? I can’t wait to hear this Penn Franklin.

B DOT: Yeah Stella. It’s grandTASTICoh, girl. I’m pissed off it’s baseball season. I wish it was nicer outside and I can’t wait for my bank account to say bigger numbers. I will say the number is bigger than it was last year and that makes me feel good. I have to record  a few more tracks for the TrixTape and it should be a wRAP. I’ve got people working on the artwork and we’re going to release it before 8 FEST.

I’m not one for promoting much. (That’s not true) This sh*t right here. This sh*t right here, Stella. This sh*t right here is going to be an EVENT of a LIFETIME. I’m talkin’ super duper crazy event, Stella.

INVAZION: You know we aren’t missing this one. I already contacted Dominic about a press pass. It’s a done deal. He looks out for me. I think it’s because I work for you.

B DOT: I can’t disagree. It helps that you’re a pretty girl who probably flirts with him as well, Stella.

INVAZION: No Comment. Well it sounds like you’re excited about everything coming up. Normally, you have funny things to say, but you don’t like to give too much information about upcoming events. You are READY to go.

B DOT: I could jump out of my chair I’m so excited about life right now. I guess I’m just in my happy place. Focused on making music that people in large masses are going to see and hear. That’s all I’ve ever wanted. I KNOW when I get to showcase my talent(s) to the masses, I’m going to be extremely successful. I love it. The people around me love it. Thus, I’m good as gold.

As I got back into my car to leave the interview with B.YONEST I couldn’t help but feel his energy. He seemed different this time. I could feel his excitement. That’s the normal, but it was an extreme excitement. B.YONEST is an outgoing person, but at the same time he’s somewhat inverted. Not today. He was open, aware and forthcoming. Maybe he didn’t smoke a full “bleeder” before I came. I don’t know. No, that’s not it. He was just “better” than before. After the interview (and off the record), B.YONEST told me this “Penn Franklin” project was more soulful and happy. He said “It starts off crazy for attention purposes, but it settles nicely. You’ll hear Breyona and Kyiah’s (his daugthters) voices. You’ll hear more about my past and hometown and such. I’m really opening up on this one.” We can’t wait, ANONYMOUZ.

In 2004, Dominic Petrozzi decided to throw a festival as a class project. He knew he has the friends and resources to throw a pretty decent party, maybe make a little bit of cash and help Ohio University continue to remain one of the Biggest and Safest ‘Party Colleges in the United States.” He had no idea that 3500 people would show up and OneFest would spark a Festival the following year. 7 years later, Mr. Petrozzi is preparing for 8 FEST and it’s bigger than ever.

B.YONEST ‘Entertainment” NEWZ.. The Blog Hits Contiune to Rise. Who Knew?

When I decided to start a blog, I had abbzolutely no idea what I was doing. My business partner/Manager, Zak Siddons, had been studying online media for some time and he felt it necessary to have a presence in the “blogisphere” so we decided to start one. I remember writing my first blog post just welcoming people to the B.YONEST INVAZION. What an idiot I was. I figured, I’d start writing posts and people would just automatically appear on my page, we would begin to get thousands of readers and life would change forever. NOT exactly what happens, folks. Not at all. It’s a process just like anything else you do. I’ll tell you where it starts, though…. CONTENT, CONTENT, CONTENT!

THE B.YONEST INVAZION blog has so many posts about the most ranDUMB things now, I have no idea where to begin to read. Any topic from Porn to the Return of Jesus has been covered on this blog and it’s a wonder that we haven’t been shut down, threatened or sabotaged by the powers that be. Kim Kardashian, Kate Gosselin and Heidi Montag have been continually ripped on and threatened, wildly. I had no idea that people would actually stop by the blog, leave a comment and repeatedly check in on “Invazion Land.” That’s exactly what’s happened though.

Our numbers continue to rise and blogs we posted months (if not years) ago are just as interesting to people today. It never quite makes sense to me when I go check our statistics and am emphatically surprised to see 400 hits in one day due to Ashley Judd’s Birthday. Love You, Ashley! An Awards Ceremony (i.e. Grammy’s, Academy’s, etc) pops up and my blog post from the 2010 Academy Awards receives 200 hits? Basically, Content is AMAZING.

People ask me all the time, how and why I continue to chase this dream (for lack of better term). My answer will always be times like this. I expected to go to the blog and see 97 to 105 hits per day, maybe. It’s the end of the month. Maybe even 50 hits. Instead, I go to the statistics section and there are 300-400 hits per day. It blows my mind with excitement EVERY TIME. With that, I say thank you to all of you who stop by “Invazion Land.” Sometimes it’s on purpose. Other times, it’s a complete accident and you somehow end up staying for a few moments. We appreciate the comments, compliments and debates. Feel free to add your two sense (I know it’s cents) anywhere and anytime as we’ll continue to make THE B.YONEST INVAZION a better, place. #hollAWOnimO

B.YONEST and Zak have been touring with Revolution and ESPNU this fall with the College Gameday team. B.YONEST hasn’t had much time in the studio (although they are in the process of building a “Road Studio” as we speak), but you better believe B DOT ANONYMOUZ hasn’t forgotten what he’s good @. He’s been focusing his skills and reaching crowds through a different facet of microphone usage. Same sh*t, Different toilet. AND.. PLEASE don’t think the brotha forgot how to spit a verse.
